Venture Capital ESG Policy Standards and Guidance Workshop
We are pleased to be hosting the second in our series of ESG Policy Standards and Guidance workshops presented by industry leader Steven Okun, this time focused on supporting venture capital firms in developing their own in-house ESG policies. While many PE funds have been formalising ESG in their investment processes, VC funds are just now beginning to do so. This workshop will aim to provide a foundation for these firms to implement an effective policy across their investments.
A responsible investment policy
is a firm's commitment to incorporate ESG factors into investment decisions
to better manage risk and generate sustainable, long-term returns. A formal
policy allows the fund to communicate its commitments to investors in a clear,
consolidated way. It also aligns expectations and builds trust with the
fund’s broader stakeholders including its investment professionals,
regulators and portfolio company employees.
The policy should establish the
framework for a consistent approach to implementation by clearly describing
the scope, governance structure, actions, and reporting to support the
integration, including who will be responsible for ESG at the fund manager.
This is a great opportunity for venture capital firms, investors, as well as corporate advisers to acquire the latest knowledge in this area. If you have any questions in relation to the webinar, please contact us at [email protected].
