Swoop Aero, backed by Tempus Partners and Right Click Capital, is
an autonomous aeromedical drone logistics network delivering life-changing
medical supplies. In the last 12 months, Swoop executed networks across
five countries and enabled services for over two million people. Their
drones currently deliver critical supplies in Malawi, Mozambique, and The
Democratic Republic of Congo, and they have secured partnerships with the
world’s foremost health organisations including the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation, UNICEF, USAID and UKAID.
When the pandemic hit, Swoop achieved a world first by remotely operating
commercial drones from another continent when delivering testing kits and
Personal Protective Equipment in Malawi, while operating the aircraft from
a base in Australia. Their impact led to a tripling of the Malawian fleet
to manage a 300% increase of network utilisation between March and April
2020.
Swoop’s ability to deploy aeromedical logistics safely, reliably and
sustainably has proven the value of its technology, and it’s potential to
strengthen medical supply chains in Australia and developed economies.
Swoop has now moved into trials with Australian pathology companies as
healthcare systems seek to enable a seamless movement of critical pathology
samples.
