Chester Moynihan co-founded Allegro Funds in 2004. Allegro invests capital and expertise into mid-market Australian and New Zealand companies to drive transformational change. Allegro has completed over $1bn in transformational investments since 2008. Chester has over 24 years’ experience in private equity investing, and his experience prior to Allegro includes working at Permira Advisers in London, Gresham Private Equity in Sydney and KPMG in both New Zealand and South Africa. 

Chester is currently Chairman of Carpet Court New Zealand and Pizza Hut Australia, and is on the board of the Journey Beyond Group. Chester is a Chartered Accountant and has a BComm and Post Graduate honours from the University of Natal, SA. He also holds an Investment Management Certificate from IMRO in the UK and the Advanced Insolvency Law & Practice II unit from the University of Queensland.
