Members of the Australian Investment Council are obligated to maintain high professional standards in every dimension of their investment and advisory roles. The standards upheld by participants in our industry are set out in the Australian Investment Council Code of Conduct, which is updated on a periodic basis to ensure that it reflects contemporary leading international practice for the private capital sector and community expectations.
Fund manager member firms are also required to provide an annual declaration to the Australian Investment Council – as a condition of ongoing membership – confirming the firm maintains policies, procedures and processes to meet or exceed the standards set out in the Code. The Australian private capital industry is one of a small number of industry sectors that has put in place a positive obligation on member firms to provide an annual declaration in respect of the industry-wide Code of Conduct.
